Tansen (Palpa) flourished as a Magar and Newar trading town controlling routes between the terai and Himalayan foothills. Narrow brick streets, carved windows, and coffee shops now share the skyline with Amar Narayan's pagoda roofs. The town is the cultural gateway to Ranighat Palace on the Kali Gandaki.
