Heritage
General Khadga Shamsher built Rani Mahal after the death of his wife Tej Kumari Devi in 1892, naming the forest Rani Ban and the ghats Rani Ghat. The neoclassical palace blends European and Mughal motifs. Abandoned when the Rana fled to India, it crumbled until a 2017 restoration created a small museum and renewed access along the Brangdi road.
